Hi {{firstname|there}},
Event details:
📅15 April 2026
🕘 19:00 - 21:00
📍 Free online event
By midnight tonight, the books on the 2025/26 tax year are officially closed.
If you didn't top up that ISA, finalise those dividend decisions, or maximise your pension contributions, that's it. The window has shut.
But tomorrow morning is the 6th of April, a fresh slate for the 2026/27 tax year. And the biggest mistake I see dentists make is waiting until next March to think about their strategy. The ones who stay ahead make decisions in April, not in a panic the following February.
So, I want to talk about something that a lot of dentists are either ignoring or vaguely stressed about.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax - MTD ITSA - is rolling out (April 2026) for sole traders and landlords earning over £50,000. If you're a practice owner running through a limited company, your turn comes later. But here's the thing, the practices that are going to find this painless are the ones that aren't scrambling to catch up.
What does MTD actually require? Quarterly digital submissions to HMRC, rather than one annual tax return. That sounds straightforward until you realise most practices are still reconciling accounts months after transactions happen, and not a single one of those spreadsheets talks to HMRC.
The good news is that cloud accounting, done properly makes this almost automatic. We use Xero with our dental clients, and when it's set up well and connected to your practice management software, your books are essentially live. You can see profit in real time. You can make smarter decisions about when to take dividends or increase pension contributions. And your quarterly MTD submissions become a non-event.
On 15 April at 7pm, Natasha is going to do a live walkthrough of exactly how this works, Xero best practice for dental, real-time dashboards, and how to link your PMS to your accounts. I'll also be showing a live demo of Samera.ai, which automates associate pay calculations directly from Dentally into Xero. Practices can save 3–5 hours a week on admin.
It's free to attend. We'd love to have you.
