I hear some version of that sentence at least once a month.

Usually from a dentist who's six months into ownership, staring at a cash flow spreadsheet that doesn't quite add up, wondering why nobody warned them about the PAYE they need to pay monthly , or the fact that their accountant had been doing their books wrong for two years, or that the previous owner's NHS targets were, let's say, optimistically recorded.

And here's the thing, they're not naive people. They're smart, capable clinicians who'd simply never been given the right information before they made one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

That's what this event is about.

Smita - who is both my wife and our Clinical Director, so I can say this with some confidence, made the jump from associate to practice owner herself. She'll tell you honestly that it was one of the best decisions she's made, and she'll also tell you what it actually cost her in stress, time, and money to get it right. No polished success story. Just the truth.

Meanwhile, I'll be covering the finance and tax side, how to structure things properly from day one so you're not playing catch-up later, and how to have a sensible conversation with a bank without feeling like you're being interrogated.

The evening kicks off with drinks at 6pm at Lloyds Bank in the City of London. We're into the myth-busting sessions by 6:30, followed by a proper no-slides Q&A at 7:20 where you can ask anything you actually want to know.

It's free. It's informal. And spaces are genuinely limited.
